The Grow More Good Garden

📍 Location: St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Boise, ID
📍 Address: Cole Road, across from Fairmont Junior High

🛠 Garden Style: Cooperative

🌱 About Our Garden:
St. Stephens Community Garden operates as a cooperative, meaning we cultivate the space together and share equally in the harvest. This collective approach allows us to maximize water usage, pool our efforts, and build a strong gardening community.

Gardeners who commit 4 hours per week from mid-March through mid-October qualify as Full-Time Gardeners and will have their own row to grow in, along with access to shared garden spaces.

🌿 Growing & Learning Together:
Gardening together provides an opportunity to meet, share stories, and exchange knowledge while working side by side. This season, we are excited to partner with area schools, including Fairmont Junior High, to offer experiential learning opportunities that help students reconnect with nature.

🙌 Gratitude & Community Support:
We are incredibly grateful for the support that has made this garden possible:

  • St. Stephens Episcopal Church – Generously provides the land for us to cultivate both food and community.

  • Fairmont Junior High STEAM Club and Dawn Bolen the Green Team Lead! — Students have participated in winter sowing, direct seeding, and experiencing just how much food can be grown, especially when we grow together!

  • Idaho Episcopal Foundation – Provided funding in 2023 for a new shed, season extension, tools, potting soil, and essential garden items.

  • One Stone High School – Students invested 3,500+ hours of effort into shaping this shared space.

📚 Garden Learning & Exploration:
Through hands-on experience, student participants have explored topics such as:

  • Ecology & Biomimicry

  • Plant Intelligence & Native Pollinators

  • Social Health & Community Engagement

  • Agricultural Evolution & Sustainable Growing Practices

It’s always exciting to see what garden days will inspire this season!

Thank You, Sunrise Rotary Club of Boise!

We are deeply grateful to the Sunrise Rotary Club of Boise for their generous support of the Grow More Good Garden in 2025. Their contribution is helping us sustain this vibrant community space—where neighbors come together to grow fresh food, share knowledge, and build connections across generations.

This support directly strengthens our garden’s operations, from essential supplies to seasonal programming, and makes it easier for more people to grow some of their own food—no matter their background or experience.

Thank you for believing in the power of community gardens and investing in a more resilient future, right here in Boise.
