Garden Sign

Hi All! Henry has been working on a garden sign design for us!

The priest, Father David, has requested we create a temporary sign or banner, even offered to pay for it.

Henry volunteered to put together a design that we can project onto a light-weight board for painting.

Please select your favorite and offer feedback. For anyone unable to make it next Monday, please hop on the virtual session with Henry to discuss the design direction further. From there we are working with Teal and Allison to set up time at One Stone for projecting and tracing the design to the board. That can be painted, art-party style, either at the school or at the garden.

Garden Planning

IMG_4847.JPG

We have been setting up various soil-rebuilding, weed-suppression methods .

We are still in the inquiry phase with community members about sharing the garden space with others, with the backup plan of doing pollinators/cover-crop over much of the remaining space, pumpkins, and other vegetables. These can include culturally relevant foods to gift to impacted communities.

The Global Gardens Community Garden has not reached max capacity this year, as it has in former years. That was how we were anticipating we would connect with African farmers potentially, to learn more food cultivation methods from.

We are also putting the word out in Latinx community, and can ask in Indigenous community. That work (from my vantage point) is a matter of timing and taking into consideration what is going on in those communities. We can discuss more while gardening.

Let’s plan to brainstorm some options for 10-15 minutes today!
